BREAKING: Gunmen Attack Yet Another Anambra Church, Kill Policeman And Church Members (Graphic Photos)


Gunmen on Sunday struck on the Assemblies of God Church on the Oguta highway Onitsha, Anambra State killing one policeman and a civilian.


This is coming seven days after gunmen attacked St Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu and killed no fewer than 13 individuals and injured 27.



An eyewitness account instructed our correspondent that the gunmen had momentarily stopped on the Assemblies of God Church, however on sighting some policemen on the church, opened hearth on them.


“When the firing grew to become too scorching, the policemen deserted their patrol automobile and ran away for security.

“The gunmen moved to their patrol van and took a gun belonging to the policeman they killed.

Another eyewitness stated, “Gunmen on Okada (motorbike) shot a policeman and picked up his rifle. They additionally shot lifeless an Okada man whereas escaping, and the passenger he was carrying was injured. The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar confirmed the incident to journalists.
He stated it was not an assault on the church, including “My males had been on patrol close to the church after they had been attacked by some gunmen. It was not an assault on the church, in the actual sense of it”.


The commissioner confirmed that the hoodlums took away a rifle belonging to the slain cop.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige had on Saturday stated the Federal Government would work out modalities on the best way to safe locations of worship within the nation.
